How much space do you need?

The absolute minimum space he can squeeze into with his instrument and still play is 1.3m x 1.1m - a little bit more is always appreciated.

Can you use the piano at our venue?

He will, if the available instrument is suitable, has recently been tuned and is in good playing order. A visit to the venue may be required to verify the suitability.

Can you perform outside?

The instrument and PA equipment will require a safe electricity supply within 30m. This can normally be achieved under a sturdy and covered gazebo (with 3 sides enclosed), located on a relatively flat surface; this will need to be provided at the venue.

How long will you play for?

Each set is typically around 50 minutes followed by a 10 minute break, although this can be adjusted depending on the overall booking time.

Can an amplified piano be intrusive?

No, as the aim is not to drown out guests’ discussions but to provide live background music. When the instrument is amplified, it is easily controlled. It can be lowered (or increased) depending on the venue, setting, performance requirements and in consultation with the host’s direction. Ultimately, the music is to be enjoyed and not to overwhelm!

What if I wanted you to play for a smaller celebration?

This would be absolutely fine. Whilst many bookings are for larger venues such as restaurants or wine bars, smaller more informal settings are also welcomed. The aim is to always match the event with the right music and to create a suitable ambiance.

What are the maximum number of people you would be happy to play for?

Having previously performed at the Kings Theatre, he is comfortable with audiences of over 1,000 people.

What inspired you to entertain people?

Whilst having tea at The Ritz he realised “I can do that” and from that moment the inspiration for QTPM was born.

I’m looking for a Friday night pub entertainer - can you help?

Whilst he has performed in such locations, this is probably not the right gig for him. However, please do make contact if you’re looking for entertainment during the Sunday lunch service - that would be more appropriate for his style.

How do you choose what to play?

Prior to any engagement, he will meet with his client to obtain a brief, discuss potential music choices plus any specific requirements.
